Caregivers. Seniors. Dementia.
Hello! My name is Cathleen Weber. I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I love working with older adults and their families, helping people cope with changes brought about by Alzheimer’s and dementias such as Lewy Body disease, Fronto-temporal dementia, Primary Progressive Aphasia, Vascular dementia, post-stroke cognitive changes and more. I have been a social worker for nearly 30 years, 20 of those in the aging and healthcare field.
Over the years I have provided countless family consultation and educational presentations on topics of Alzheimer’s, dementia, and caregiving. I have worked as an Area Agency on Aging case manager, social worker in a palliative care hospice program, Alzheimer’s educator of a major regional hospital, and worked on a memory clinic team. I have facilitated hundreds of support groups for people experiencing Alzheimer’s disease, caregivers and individuals living with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s disease) and their families.
In 2012 I developed and founded an adult day program, Better Day Club, for individuals living with dementia. Running that program for 8 years was one of the best parts of my professional life. I have deep respect for individuals living with cognitive change and for their caregivers. Dementia is whole family disease and it’s always my hope to help families make the most of their relationships and resources during difficult health-related journeys. Together we will work to make the best of challenging circumstances and even find some hidden joys along the way!
